The timeline below has a list of every event that happens according to the Harry Potter book series, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, The Tales of Beedle the Bard and Quidditch Through the Ages.

The date or month of specific events could be estimated if the events of the books are tracked. For example, the events leading up to Harry's eleventh birthday in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone are told day-to-day.[1] Rowling does often get the date in the story wrong according to the real-world calendar. If she says Harry's birthday is on a Tuesday when in the real-world, it was a Sunday, the timeline will still say it is Tuesday according to the books.
