Aingingein is an ancient Irish wizarding broom game. It is referenced in Quidditch Through the Ages.
About[]
The game is played by players taking the Dom (the ball, which is the gallbladder of goat) one by one and quickly flying through burning barrels put on stilts high in the air. The player who threw their Dom through the final barrel in the quickest time was the winner. It was known for players to catch on fire while going through the series of barrels.[1]
History[]
The game is an early version of a broom game and has died out long before the present day. There is many a ballad about Aingingein. Fingal the Fearless is said to have been an Aingingein champion.[1]
