Alexander Pope is a poet who is quoted in The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
Pope coined the phrase "Hope springs eternal" which Albus Dumbledore uses in his notes on The Tale of the Three Brothers. This shows that the wizard was familiar with Muggle poetry, particularly of Pope.[1]
