This ancient Mediaeval broomstick is a broomstick currently held in Museum of Quidditch in London, and is the oldest known preserved flying broomstick. It is described by Kennilworthy Whisp as being constructed of ash, with a tail made of hazel twigs. The broomstick itself is described as "thick", "knotty", and "unvarnished", and the tail being "crudely" bound. Additionally, it possesses only basic enchantments; the Flying Charm, and the ability to move forwards, backwards, and stop, without seeming any ability to make proper turns, or alter speed.[2]
Trivia[]
- While this is the oldest known broomstick, it is not the oldest known racing broom; that honour goes to Moontrimmer.[1]
