Aragog is the fifteenth chapter of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Events[]
Harry and Ron can't find any spiders left in Hogwarts Castle to follow. They also find it hard to get the time to follow them. Ernie Macmillan apologises to Harry for ever thinking he was responsible for petrifying Justin Finch-Fletchley.
One day in Herbology, Harry and Ron finally catch spiders heading towards the Forbidden Forest. That evening, using the Invisibility Cloak, Harry and Ron get Fang in Hagrid's Hut and head into the Forest. They go deeper and deeper until they are nearly at the center when strange large creatures pick them up and carry them to a hollow. They are dropped in the center of the hollow by an Acromantula. Harry speaks to their leader Aragog.
Aragog tells Harry that he and Hagrid are innocent. The creature in the Chamber of Secrets is ancient and feared even by spiders who dare not even speak the name of it. He also reveals the girl who died fifty years ago is still at the school. Hagrid has cared for him when he was younger and he was loyal to Hagrid, but he couldn't protect the friends of Hagrid from his hungry children. He gives permission to the other Acromantulas to eat Harry, Ron and Fang. A feral Ford Anglia saves them and takes them back to the school. Harry figures out the student killed fifty years is probably a ghost in the school.
