The Banshee is a Dark creature that has the appearance of a woman with long, black hair and a skeletal, green-tinged face. They create an unearthy sound of a long, wailing shriek that may be fatal to those who hear it.

Gilderoy Lockhart told a story about how he had defeated the Bandon Banshee. He wrote a book about it called Break with a Banshee and boasted about it but he was later revealed to be a fraud. He erased the memory of a witch with a hairy chin and stole her story.[1]
