Harry Potter Books Wiki

A charm is a type of spell which appears throughout the Harry Potter book series. They affect what an object does but not what an object is. When the charm is in effect, the object is considered "enchanted". Charms are very powerful and any lapse in concentration could cause painful side effects, even death. The witch and wizard has to produce charms with precise concentration, wand movement and perfect pronunciation of the incantation.
