Harry Potter Books Wiki

Cinderella is a Muggle book which appears in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

Hermione Granger mentions the book when Ronald Weasley wonders why she and Harry Potter have not heard of wizarding tales such as The Tales of Beedle the Bard. Hermione pointed out they grew up in the Muggle world hearing stories like Cinderella. Ron didn't understand what Cinderella was. He thought it sounded like an illness.[1]

Cinderella is also mentioned by J. K. Rowling in the introduction of The Tales of Beedle the Bard, where she notes the differences between Muggle characters such as Cinderella and fictional witches in the Harry Potter universe like Amata. While Cinderella is happy to wait for her lost shoe to be returned to her, Rowling's witches are much more active in seeking their fortunes by taking their fates into their own hands.[2]
