A Clabbert is a wizarding tree-dwelling beast.

About[]

A Clabbert looks like a cross between a monkey and a frog. They have a smooth and hairless body which is a mottled green. They have webbed hands and feet and arms which are long and supple. Clabberts also have short horns on their head and a wide mouth with razor-sharp teeth. They appear to look like they are grinning. In the middle of their head is a very distinctive pustule which turns and flashes scarlet when it senses danger.[1]

Clabberts are very agile and swing from branch to branch. They tend to feed on small lizards and birds.[1]

History[]

American wizards once kept Clabberts in their garden so they could sense and give a warning when Muggles were approaching. They were put in trees and glowed in the night with their putsules. However, they attracted Muggle attention who thought their wizarding neighbours still had their Christmas lights up in June. Eventually, the International Confederation of Wizards introduced fines for this and the use of Clabberts stopped.[1]
