The Comet Trading Company is a wizarding company that produces racing brooms for sport.[1]
History[]
In 1929, the Comet Trading Company was opened by Randolph Keitch and Basil Horton. They had set out to create racing brooms, with the Cleansweep Broom Company being the only one in the world producing them. After testing 140 models, they released the Comet 140. With the Horton-Keitch braking charm applied, the broomstick was great for Quidditch players and a preference for many.[1]
This drew the Comet Trading Company into an intense rivalry with the Cleansweep Broom Company. Over the next decade, they both released newer, improved broomsticks and the racing broom industry got more competitive. In 1938, they released the Comet 180.[1]
