The Confundus Charm is a spell used to confuse people or a sentient object. A person or object affected is described to be "Confunded".
About[]
A witch or wizard needs to be skilled and have good concentration with clear intent in order to perform the spell. The effect of the spell has varying levels. It could simply hoodwink someone[2] or control and implant an idea in their head.[3][4] It is also used on a sentient object but it is very difficult to do, especially if the object is powerful.[5] A person shudders when they are first hit with the spell.[2]
History[]
In June 1994, Severus Snape told Cornelius Fudge how he thought Harry, Ron and Hermione had been Confunded into thinking Sirius Black was innocent. He even thought that was why they attacked him and didn't think they should be punished for things they did when they were bewitched.[3]
