Curse-Breaker is a career in the wizarding world. It first appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
A witch or wizard in this role has to break curses placed on things like objects or places. They can work for businesses including Gringotts bank. They also travel and go on adventures in pursuit of dangerous treasures including gold. Curse-Breakers pursue this career if they consider the "treasure bonuses" to outweigh any risks, and those considering it should be willing to seek "thrilling opportunities".[1]
An O.W.L. in Arithmancy was needed by Hogwarts students to pursue work in the field.[1] Bill Weasley was a known Curse-Breaker who worked at Gringotts.[2]
