The Cushioning Charm is a charm used on broomsticks to make them more comfortable for the riders.
Usage[]
The charm presumably produces a cushioning-sensation on an intended target, as all broomsticks were noted to be incredibly uncomfortable before this charm's invention.[1][2] Notably, in spite of this charm, pre-existing injuries can still be aggravated, as noted with Fred and George Weasley's boils.[3]
Events[]
Elliot Smethwyck invented this charm in 1820, where it revolutionised the broomstick industry by allowing broomsticks to be truly comfortable for the first time in history.[1]
