A Demiguise is a peaceful wizarding ape-like beast in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. They can tell their near future and turn invisible at will.[1]

Demiguises will turn invisible at will when they feel threatened. Due to their ability to turn themselves invisible at will, wizarding governments do not have help Demiguises hide in accordance with the International Statute of Secrecy.[2] They are difficult to find even in their natural habitat and are only seen by wizards who are skilled in capturing them.[1]
Demiguises are ape-like and graceful in appearance. They have large black eyes and long, fine, silky silvery hair. Their fur is very sought after and highly valued because pelts with their hair can be woven into an invisibility cloak. The effect fades away over time.[1]
History[]
Phineas Fletcher captured a Demiguise to traffick and took it to North America on board a ship. When the Demiguise escaped, it bred with a ghoul. The result is a new species called a Hidebehind.[3]
