The Disillusionment Charm is a powerful charm that renders people or objects temporarily invisible.
Effect[]
The Disillusionment Charm is used for self-camouflage or concealment. It is typically put on Invisibility Cloaks and is the preferred method to make one. However, witches and wizards who are powerful enough can render something invisible without the need for a Cloak.[1]
History[]
Albus Dumbledore was able to produce a Disillusionment Charm so powerful he could make himself invisible without the need for an Invisibility Cloak.[1]
Owners of Hippogriffs and winged horses[2] have to put a Disillusionment Charm on them every day to distort the vision of any Muggle they could encounter. Failing to cast it daily will result in the effect wearing off.[3]
