The Divination classroom is a room at the very top of the North Tower where Divination is taught.

About[]

Entrance[]

The classroom is at the top of a spiral staircase in the North Tower reached by going up to a seventh-floor corridor and going left down a very long landing. It is entered via a tiny landing without doors which has a trapdoor on the ceiling. In gold lettering is a sign stating it was the entrance to the Divination classroom. The trapdoor opens of its own accord, dropping down a silvery ladder.[1]

Layout[]

The classroom is like an attic or an old-fashioned teashop. It has a faint, crimson light and a crowded fireplace which emits a heavy and sickly perfume. The curtains are usually closed and lamps are draped in red scarves. There are at least twenty chintz armchairs and fat pouffes, and crammed shelves of dusty feathers, candle stubs, tattered playings cards, silver crystal balls and teacups.[1]
