Around the wizarding world, there are several known dragon reservations created for both preservation of the species and to prevent infractions to the International Statute of Secrecy.

About[]

In order to conceal the wizarding world, it is necessary to put magical creatures like dragons into safe areas to prevent infractions to the International Statute of Secrecy. Dragon habitats are one of the areas that have to be put under constant wizarding supervision because they are difficult to control. They will try to take any opportunity to escape their reservation to find prey.[1]

History[]

There is a dragon reservation in the higher mountains of Wales to preserve its native species, the Common Welsh Green.[2]

After the numbers of Romanian Longhorns decreased due to the trading of their highly valuable horns, a reservation was created in their native territory. This is now the world's most important reservation and is home to a variety of dragons where wizards from across the world work to study them.[3] Charlie Weasley, a dragonologist, works here.[4]

A dragon reservation in Sweden is crossed through by riders competing in the annual broom race.[5]
