The empty chamber is a room in Hogwarts Castle in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. It is entered through a door in the Entrance Hall near the Great Hall. First year students are kept waiting here before being taken to the Great Hall to be placed in their Hogwarts house.

Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and other first years waited in here to be taken into the Great Hall. While they were there, around twenty ghosts appeared through the wall and found them.[1]
