The End-of-Year Feast is an annual event in the Harry Potter book series. It is held at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry every June, commemorating the end of the school year on the final evening. The Head gives a speech and announces the winner of the House Championship at the start of the feast. The Great Hall is decorated in the colours of the winning House.[1]

In June 1992, Professor Dumbledore announced that Slytherin had won the House Championship, and the Great Hall was decorated in their House colours. However, he then gave House points to Gryffindor students that put them ten points ahead of Slytherin. The whole school celebrated because it was the first time that Slytherin had lost in seven years.[1]
In June 1993, the End-of-Year Feast was a very special one because the school was celebrating the closing of the Chamber of Secrets. Anyone that had been Petrified were awakened and joined their friends in the Great Hall, and Rubeus Hagrid was let out of Azkaban. Then, Professor McGonagall announced that exams had been canceled, and Professor Dumbledore let the school know that Professor Lockhart was leaving. The feast went on for the whole night.[2]
