History[]

In December 1992, Harry Potter, Ronald Weasley and Hermione Granger played a game of Exploding Snap in Gryffindor Tower. Because Exploding Snap was loud, they were glad they couldn't disturb anyone because they had gone home for the holidays.[1]

In April 1993, Fred and George Weasley challenged Harry and Ron to play Exploding Snap. Ginny watched subdued in a chair. Harry and Ron kept losing on purpose because they wanted to sneak out into the Forbidden Forest, but they had to wait until it was way past midnight when Fred and George finally went to bed.[2]

In June 1993, Harry, Ron, Hermione, Fred, George and Ginny played the game on the Hogwarts Express when they were heading home for the summer holidays.[3] In June 1994, Harry, Ron and Hermione played it again on the train.[4]

In 1996, Fred and George were known to play the game at the back of their Defence Against the Dark Arts lessons. Educational Decree Number 26 was passed, stating teachers couldn't provide information to their students unless it was about the subject they teach. Lee Jordan pointed out to Professor Umbridge that she can't tell Fred and George off for playing it in lessons anymore because it wasn't related to her subject.[5]

In December 1996, Fred and George played it with Ginny.[6]
