Gilderoy Lockhart is the sixth chapter of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Events[]
Ron is sent a Howler for taking the flying car to school. In Herbology, Professor Sprout teaches the second-years about Mandrakes and Harry talks to Justin Finch-Fletchley for the first time. Ron's broken wand fails in Transfiguration even though he put it back together using Spellotape.
At lunch, Harry is introduced to Colin Creevey who is fascinated by Harry and asks for a signed photo. Draco finds it very funny but Professor Lockhart "saves" Harry by agreeing to take a photo together because it was too arrogant of Harry to think he has that achieved that level of celebrity status.
The second-years have their first Defence Against the Dark Arts lesson with Professor Lockhart. He proves to be completely incompetent. He begins by giving an examination about himself and then unleashes Cornish pixies in the classroom who cause absolute havoc. Unable to sort it out by himself, Professor Lockhart runs away and Hermione has to fix it. Hermione defends Lockhart but Ron is doubting Lockhart's abilities.
