Gregory Goyle is a character in the Harry Potter book series. He is a pure-blood wizard in Slytherin house. He and his friend, Vincent Crabbe are treated like lackeys by Draco Malfoy. He is in the Inquisitorial Squad. A bully who uses his size and strength to intimidate, he is very slow on the uptake.[1]
Biography[]
Philosopher's Stone[]
In September 1991, Goyle began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. He was friends with Draco Malfoy and Vincent Crabbe. On the Hogwarts Express, they found Harry Potter's compartment which he was sharing with Ronald Weasley. They bullied Ron while Draco offered Harry his friendship. When he declined, they started fighting until Ron's pet rat, Scabbers bit Goyle which caused them to run away.[2]
Chamber of Secrets[]
During the Christmas holidays, Crabbe and Goyle stayed at the Hogwarts because Draco was staying. Harry and Ron put a Sleeping Draught in two slices of chocolate cake to trick Crabbe and Goyle. When they found the cakes, they ate them and collapsed unconscious. Harry took a piece of Goyle's hair for a Polyjuice Potion in order tomask Draco if he was the Heir of Slytherin. They put Gregory in a cupboard with Vincent until they woke up confused.[1]
Appearance[]
Goyle is very large, has dull eyes, short hair and broad shoulders.[1] Over the summer between his third and fourth years at Hogwarts, he appeared to grow at least a foot higher.[3]
