Harry Potter Books Wiki
Policies

Blog Policy is designed to keep the focus on editing articles and ensure the content in blogs is on-topic and appropriate. To maintain this focus there are a few policies regarding blogs.

  • Blog post have to stay on topic: they have to discuss things related to the site, whether it be new material that could impact and change our articles, announcing changes to the site structure or content or organising a project for improving the site or an article.
  • No fan fiction: the wiki is canonical and does not host fan fiction. Users who wish to write up fan fiction will be redirected to the Harry Potter Fanon Wiki.
  • Keep it civil – civility is always expected across every feature of the site. Blogs are not to be used to make a point or make personal attacks against users.
  • No inappropriate content: remember that Harry Potter is a children's story and therefore appeals to a younger demographic. The content here should reflect that and has to be appropriate.
  • Not a primary contribution: the site should be primarily used to make edits to the mainspace. Users who edit their blogs excessively will be warned to stop. Excessive blog editing, in this case, is if a user's total edits are 15% in the Blog space. Users can be blocked at the administrators' discretion.
  • Blogs do not replace forums: Blogs should not be used to ask for help or other site questions that would be more appropriate in one of the Forums These blogs will be moved to the appropriate forum before being deleted. Blogs do not replace article talk pages that are used to talk about changes to a specific article.
  • Always categorise: Blog posts need to be categorised into Category:Blog post.
