The Image Policy is designed to keep the wiki's images organised and categorised properly with the correct copyright tag.
Rules[]
- Images should have a simple name explaining who or what it is portraying.
- Always use a clear, recognisable, non-duplicated filename.
- Files must be from an official source.
- Do not upload any file which is simply a resized and not otherwise altered version of an image that already exists on Harry Potter Books Wiki.
- Fan art should not be uploaded, unless exclusively as a user image and tagged with {{user-image}}, or it will be speedily deleted.
- They should have reasonably high quality with no watermarks, excepting cases in which NO alternative source is available.
- File information must be provided using the {{Information}} template. Every field with information available should be filled in.
- Always tag your file with the appropriate copyright template.
- Always specify the source of the file, such as a website URL or the name of the source from which the image is scanned or captured.
- Do not upload content with falsified sources or copyright tags. These file will be deleted and you may be blocked.
- Files should be categorised by source, subject, and type, if relevant categories are available.
- Images should be true to their source. However, a small amount of editing is permissible in order to enhance an image's usefulness or illustrative capability. Excessively edited images will be deleted at the discretion of the administration.
- They can be cropped in some cases. These include removing frames or other segments that distract from the primary image, or to focus on a specific character or element for am article. Altered versions have to be recorded in the "Other versions" field of the {{Information}} template.
- Artist signatures should never be edited out of images unless the signature happens to be removed through simple cropping.
- "Compilation" or "collage"-type images cannot be uploaded.
- If a file needs to be renamed or deleted, place {{Rename}} or {{Delete}} on the page.
Accepted illustrators[]
Harry Potter Books Wiki only accepts illustrations which have to be from official sources, unless it is uploaded for a real-world topic. These can include pictures from video games like Harry Potter: Magic Awakened provided it is true to its book description. Pictures from these illustrators are accepted:
