The Talk-page policy outlines the rules pertaining to talk-pages and other pages on Harry Potter Books Wiki where users can engage in discussions.
- Every comment has to be accompanied by a signature. Signatures must include the timestamp.
- Users cannot edit their own comments after posting unless they are correcting their spelling or grammar or removing a duplicate post. They also cannot edit the comments of other users unless they are an administrator removing a personal attack and other inappropriate content or redacting private personal information.
- No comment can be removed from any discussion page unless it is archived on a subpage of that page, in which case there should be a clear visible link to the archive(s) placed on the original page.
- Only an administrator can archive a talk-page in the mainspace. However, a user can archive their own user talk-page by adding "/Archive1" to end of their talk-page URL.
- Talk-pages have to be used to discuss the wiki or the content of the page in question. They are not a space to socialise. Chatting takes place in discussions or blogs.
