The High Table is a long table in the Great Hall of Hogwarts Castle. It appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone to Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. The staff of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are seated here during mealtimes and special occasions.
It is the furthest point away from the entrance door. In the center of the High Table is a large golden chair for the Head of Hogwarts. Other professors and staff are usually seated in the same place, with Minerva McGonagall sitting close to Albus Dumbledore.[1]
In 1993, the Christmas feast only had thirteen people in attendance so the High Table and house tables were taken out of the Great Hall and a smaller, single table placed in the middle of the Great Hall.[2]
