Jinxes are a kind of Dark charm that causes harm and minor inconveniences to the target. They can be used for defence.
About[]
In order to perform a Jinx, it is vital to keep eye contact and not blink. The best way to counter-act them is to say a counter-curse.[1] These include the Anti-Jinx.[2] Eating a pickled Murtlap provides some protection from jinxes.[3]
Certain jinxes and defences are taught to students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry during Defence Against the Dark Arts.
