The Keeper of Keys and Grounds is a witch or wizard employed by Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. They tend to and care for the school grounds and ensured the security of the school.

The keys to Hogwarts Castle kept by the Keeper
The role included:
- Tending to the school grounds.
- Keeping the keys to the school.
- Collecting first-year students at Hogsmeade station, and taking those students up to the school for their Sorting ceremony.[1]
- Performing special tasks for the Head of Hogwarts and Professors.
- Defrosting school broomsticks in winter.[2]
- Chopping down and bringing fir trees into the Great Hall for Christmas.[3]
- Growing pumpkins for the Hallowe'en Feast.[4]

Ogg was the Keeper of Keys and Grounds during the 1940s.[5]
Sometime after being kicked out of Hogwarts, Rubeus Hagrid took over from Ogg.[5]

Trivia[]
- Rubeus Hagrid often goes into the Forbidden Forest and tends to any issues inside. However, it is unlikely that this is a part of his role as Keeper of Keys and Grounds. Hagrid has always been interested in creatures of any kind, and has a bond with Aragog and a herd of centaurs that live within, thus making it safer for him to enter the forest.
