Lavender Brown is a character in the Harry Potter book series. She is a witch who is part of Dumbledore's Army. She attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Gryffindor house. In her sixth-year, she dates Ronald Weasley. Lavender is attacked at the Battle of Hogwarts by Fenrir Greyback.
Biography[]
In September 1991, Lavender began attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Lavender was the first student in her year to be sorted into Gryffindor house.[1] In her second-year, she attended a Duelling Club founded by Professor Lockhart. During a duel, Lockhart's wand was knocked out of his hand and Lavender picked it up and gave it back to him. He was grateful to her.[2]

- In Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Lavender's fate at the Battle of Hogwarts is not clear. Hermione found her being attacked by Fenrir, then she curses him. Lavender is described to be "feebly stirring", suggesting she still had life left in her. J. K. Rowling has never confirmed whether she lived or died and a Wizarding World article written by staff, which stated she was "presumed dead", has since been deleted.
