Lily Potter's wand is 10 and 1/4 inches in length and made of willow wood. It was manufactured by Garrick Ollivander and purchased by Lily when she was eleven. It is "swishy" and very suitable for charms.[1]
History[]
Lily Potter (then Lily Evans) purchased the wand when she was eleven prior to beginning her education at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in September 1971.
Lily proved to be adept at potion-making.[2] She probably wielded the wand during the First Wizarding War when she was part of the Order of the Phoenix.[3] The evening of her death, she was not by her wand when Voldemort entered her home in Godric's Hollow and killed her while she protected her son, Harry Potter. It’s unknown what happened to her wand next.[4]
Many years after her death and twenty years after she purchased the wand, the manufacturer and seller of the wand, Garrick Ollivander, while speaking to Harry would remember the day Lily purchased the wand and the exact wand she bought.[1]
Trivia[]
- The wand may have been buried with Lily and if it is, it is buried in the graveyard of Godric's Hollow.[5]
- It's unknown whether the wand has a core made of unicorn hair, dragon heartstring or phoenix feather.[6]
