This letter was sent by Modesty Rabnott to her sister, Prudence, in the twelfth century.[1]
History[]
In the twelfth century, Modesty Rabnott sent a letter to her sister after getting into trouble at a Quidditch game. She was a spectator when Barberus Bragge released a Snidget and offered a prize to the player that caught it. She intervened to save the little bird. The bird escaped but she was captured. Bragge fined her ten Galleons.[1]
Rabnott wrote to her sister about the event, calling Bragge an "old brute" and that they took her house because she didn't have the Galleons to pay the fine. She was going to move in with Prudence and bring her Hippogriff. The game she attended is signifcant because it is the inspiration for the addition of the Seeker and the Golden Snitch that was eventually added to the game.[1]
The letter was recovered and kept in the Museum of Quidditch centuries later.[1]
