Biography[]
Early life[]
When she was a young girl, she brewed a Love Potion.[2]
Philosopher's Stone[]
Molly and Arthur bought new robes and an owl for Percy when he was made a Prefect. On the first of September, she led her family through King's Cross Station to the Hogwarts Express. She guided a very polite Harry Potter when he was lost trying to find the train. When he boarded, Harry watched Molly say goodbye to her four children leaving for Hogwarts. Fred and George told her the child she helped was Harry. She was worried about about him being there alone. She had to tell Ginny not to try and find him and shouted at Fred and George when they considered asking Harry what Voldemort looked like. Molly told them to stay out of trouble and to look after Ron. She had to comfort Ginny who was sad that she was too young to attend Hogwarts. Molly waved when the train was leaving. She had made lunch for her children but because she didn't have much time to make them food, she often forgot what they liked.[3]
In December, Molly and Arthur spent the Christmas holidays in Romania where Charlie worked. Every year, she knitted her children a jumper each in their own colour. Ron received a maroon jumper. She also gifted Harry an emerald green jumper with a large box of home-made fudge after Ron told her that Harry was not expecting any presents.[4] In June, she picked up Percy, Fred, George and Ron with Ginny at Platform 9 3/4. Ginny pointed at Harry and Molly told her it was rude. Harry thanked her for the gifts she sent. When she spoke to Vernon Dursley to ask if he was Harry's family, he rudely said that he was "in a way" and left.[5]
Chamber of Secrets[]

During the summer, Ron told his parents that he had written many letters to Harry but he didn't get any replies. Arthur found out through work that Harry had been sent an official warning from the Improper Use of Magic Office so he and Molly agreed that if he didn't write back by Friday, they would go and get him.[6]
However when she woke up the next day, she realised that Fred, George and Ron had stolen Arthur's flying car. When they returned with Harry, she was waiting in the garden and she looked very angry. She shouted at her children and then prepared food for Harry while Fred, George and Ron were forced to de-gnome the garden. Arthur later returned from work and she told him they they had stolen his car, expecting him to get angry. However, she was very annoyed when he found interesting instead so Ron and Harry left them arguing.[6]
Molly was very kind to Harry and gave him the love and affection he didn't receive at home. She thought he was very skinny and kept trying to feed him and give him second servings. During a shopping trip to Diagon Alley, she was frantic when Harry went missing after taking the Floo Network to the wrong place until Rubeus Hagrid found him. Hermione Granger and her parents also went shopping with them. Molly kept warning Arthur to stop asking them about the Muggle world. After they collected their money in Gringotts, she took Ginny to get second-hand robes. They returned to their family in Flourish and Blotts an hour later.[7]
Molly was very excited to learn that Gilderoy Lockhart had a book signing that day. However while he was signing books, Arthur had a fight with Lucius Malfoy and they fell into a bookshelf. She was very angry at Arthur for causing a scene and was worried about what Lockhart thought of it but Fred told her that he had considered it good publicity. She had to give Arthur another warning when he wanted to ask Hermione Granger yet another thing about the non-magic world.[7]
On the first of September, the family were running very late for the train to Hogwarts. Arthur looked at the time when everyone was finally in the car and wanted to use the Invisibility Booster to fly it to King's Cross but Molly refused to let him do it in broad daylight. They had to turn around three times to go back to The Burrow because Fred, George and Ginny forgot things. They eventually managed to get there in time and she walked through the wall to Platform Nine and Three-Quarters with Ginny.[8]
However when she and Arthur went back to the car, it was missing because Harry and Ron had stolen it to fly to Hogwarts. They were witnessed in the flying car by several Muggles and it was reported in the newspapers. Arthur faced an investigation at work because it was illegal to enchant a car if it was going to be used.[8] She sent Ron a Howler to shout at him.[9] Arthur was fined fifty galleons and an article was published in the newspapers. Reporters turned up at The Burrow to speak to Arthur but he declined to comment. Molly told reporters she would set the family ghoul on them if they did not leave.[10]
In May, Molly was sent a letter by Percy telling her and Arthur that Ginny was missing with a warning that "HER SKELETON WILL LIE IN THE CHAMBER OF SECRETS FOREVER".[11] They had to go up to the school and speak to Professor McGonagall and Professor Dumbledore. Harry and Ron saved Ginny and they were reunited with her. She and Arthur embraced her and Dumbledore told them how Voldemort had enchanted Ginny with a Diary. They were very shocked. They then took Ginny to the Hospital Wing.[12]
Prisoner of Azkaban[]
In the summer of 1993, Arthur won the Grand Prize Galleon Draw. He spent it on a month-long holiday for their family to visit Bill who was working abroad. They appeared in a photograph on the front of the Daily Prophet.[13]
For the final day of the holidays, she and her family, with Hermione, joined Harry at the Leaky Cauldron where he was staying. They had dinner together before heading to their rooms. Harry overheard Arthur and Molly arguing about Sirius Black. Arthur wanted to tell Harry who Sirius was and that he was danger. Molly was worried it would depress Harry and questioned whether Sirius really did want to hurt him. Arthur was frustrated at her and told her that she knew Sirius was heard talking about it. In the end, she conceded that Arthur should do what he thought was the right thing.[14]
Goblet of Fire[]
During the summer holidays, Molly learned that Harry was starving after he was put on Dudley Dursley's diet. She tried to help by sending Errol with a big fruitcake and assorted meat pies.[15] She also discovered Fred and George had opened a joke shop at home, Weasleys' Wizard Wheezes, when she found their order forms and price lists. She was very unhappy with the venture and warned them not to carry on making and selling their products, hoping they would aspire to careers at the Ministry of Magic instead of a shop. She was disappointed with their O.W.L.s results.[16]
In August, she sent a letter inviting Harry to the 422nd Quidditch World Cup final via the Muggle post to Vernon and Petunia Dursley. She also suggested that he could stay at the Burrow for the rest of summer. Unaware of how it worked, she put stamps over the entire envelope except for a square inch to write the address. When the letter was delivered to the surprise of Vernon, he was less than thrilled but remembered she was red-haired "dumpy woman" with lots of children. He eventually agreed Harry could go and let him reply to her, although the Weasleys would have picked him up even if Vernon didn't agree.[15]
A few days later, she walked into the kitchen where Arthur, their children and Harry were after his arrival. When she did, she overheard Arthur berating Fred and George for tricking Dudley Dursley with a Ton-Tongue Toffee and threatening to tell her about it. Arthur didn't really intend to tell her, but had to when she started grilling them. She then started shouting at the twins for their behaviour. Afterwards, she prepared dinner and told the children to help set up the table in the garden.[16]
She was so annoyed with Fred and George, that she vigorously cooked dinner and made the potatoes peel so quickly that the skins flew and bounced off the walls and ceilings. She directed the dustpan to clear the mess up while ranting that they had no ambition. She slammed her saucepan onto the kitchen table and prepared a sauce which she stirred with her wand. She told Harry that she thought they were wasting their brains and that they are more likely to end up in front of the Improper Use of Magic Office.[16]
She kept pulling out more saucepans and used her wand to pull cutlery out of a drawer which flew across the kitchen and chopped up the potatoes. When she reached back for her wand, she picked up once of Fred and George's fake wands which turned into a giant mouse. She furiously started shouting so Harry and Ron decided to leave her and go in the garden.[16]
By mid-evening, Molly served her family and guests dishes and dishes of food, including chicken and ham pie, boiled potatoes and salad. While eating, she questioned Bill on his appearance, disapproving of his fang earring and long hair. She wondered whether his workplace, where he was a Curse-Breaker, was okay with it and he told her they didn't care so long he kept bringing in treasure. Molly asked if he could trim his hair but Ginny told her that she liked Bill's hair.[16]
When her family left the next day to go to the Cup, she woke up everyone who couldn't Apparate at the crack of dawn and served porridge for breakfast.[17] While they were attending the World Cup, she went to Diagon Alley to get her children's and Harry's school supplies.[16] The day after, she learned that the campsites had been attacked by Death Eaters and anxiously waited to find out if her family were okay. When they returned, she was very relieved and rushed over to hug them. In particular, she felt guilty for shouting at Fred and George in case that was the last time she had ever spoken to them.[18]
Over the next week, she was frustrated by how much Arthur was working and the criticism he was receiving for giving a comment to the Daily Prophet.[18] The day they were supposed to take the children to King's Cross, she called for Arthur when he received an urgent message from the Ministry regarding Alastor Moody. She was left to take the children on her own and booked a Muggle taxi to get there.[19]
