Biography[]

Chamber of Secrets[]

One day in August, Arthur Weasley conducted a raid for the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office and Mundungus tried to hex him when he was not looking.[1]

Goblet of Fire[]

Fletcher stayed in a campsite near the venue for the 422nd Quidditch World Cup. He was still there the night of the final when the campsites were attacked by Death Eaters. He sent a request to the Ministry of Magic for compensation but claimed he had stayed in a twelve bedroom tent with an en-suite Jacuzzi. However, the Ministry had a record of his plot number and knew he had just slept under a cloak propped up on sticks.[2]

Order of the Phoenix[]

Mundungus was now part of the Order of the Phoenix and was put on duty guarding Harry Potter at Privet Drive. He heard about a bunch of stolen cauldrons which had fallen off the back of a broomstick. Arabella Figg gave him a warning to stay where he was instead of leaving Harry to buy the cauldrons. However, he Disapparated during the evening. The loud snap was heard by the neighbourhood, including Harry. Figg had stationed Tibbles to watch Mundungus in case he left. When she heard that he had, she was very upset. She left her house to track down Harry, who had left the house to hang out in the local park.[3]

In his absence, Harry was attacked by dementors with his cousin Dudley Dursley. He survived by using a Patronus Charm which drew the attention of the Ministry of Magic, who would put Harry on trial for breaking the International Statute of Secrecy. When he returned, he was surprised to find Figg had revealed the truth to Harry. She shouted at him for leaving, informing him about the dementors to his shock. He tried to defend his decision, telling her it was a good business opportunity causing her to hit him with cat food. He looked awkward, knowing he had to tell Dumbledore what had happened. He left by Disapparating, with Figg hoping Dumbledore would murder him for it.[3]

Appearance[]

Mundungus is short with bandy legs and bloodshoot baggy eyes which are similar to a basset hound. He has long, straggly ginger hair, is unshaven and wears a tatty overcoat while often stinking of drink/tobacco.[3]
