An Order of Suspension is a signed document given by the Board of Governors at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry to a Head of Hogwarts if they decided a suspension was necessary. It needs to have the signature of every one of the twelve governors.[1] It was given to Albus Dumbledore in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.

History[]

Lucius Malfoy was the Chairman of the Board of Governors during Harry Potter's second year at Hogwarts. He forced the eleven other governors to suspend Albus Dumbledore by threatening to curse their families. He gave the Order of Suspension to Dumbledore in Hagrid's Hut. Cornelius Fudge objected but he was powerless to overrule such an Order because it was up to the Board. Professor Dumbledore was later reinstated.[1]
