This character appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. She is a witch and the mother of Peter Pettigrew.
In 1981, she was told by the Ministry of Magic that Peter had been killed when he confronted Sirius Black. She was given an Order of Merlin, First Class in honour of Peter's heroic actions[1], and a finger.[2] However, Peter wasn't innocent: he had committed the crimes Sirius was imprisoned for and he had survived and gone into hiding.[1]
Cornelius Fudge thought she found comfort in Peter's award. It's unknown if she lived long enough to find out the truth about Peter.[1]
