Once a grand, fine-looking manor house, it stands on a hill overlooking the village of Little Hangleton. It is the biggest house for miles around. Decades after the Riddles were killed in the house, it is derelict with its windows boarded, tiles fallen off its roof and ivy growing over it.[1]

A room at the back of the house has a set of keys. Ivy has also grown over the door to it. It has a carnervous kitchen with a door which leads into the hall with large, mullioned windows both sides of the front door. It has stone stairs leading up to the landing. To the right is a passage leading to a room.[1] There is a cottage on the grounds.

History[]

"The villagers of Little Hangleton still called it 'the Riddle House', even though it had been many years since the Riddle family had lived there."
— Villagers perception of the house

In 1944, Voldemort found out his father was living in Little Hangleton. He tracked down the house and entered one evening at dinner to find his paternal family in the drawing room. He killed his grandfather, grandmother and father with the Killing Curse. The next day, their maid found their bodies and run screaming into the village about her discovery.[1]

Their gardener Frank Bryce was arrested for the killings but was released for lack of evidence. He returned to live in the cottage on the grounds and continued to tend to the garden. The next two families did not stay for long because they found the house creepy. In 1994, the third owner was a wealthy man who did not live there and used the house for tax purposes. He employed Frank to do the garden. At that point, Frank was elderly and struggling, with the garden was getting untidy.[1]

A group of locals boys liked to ride their bikes over the garden, broke into the house once or twice, and found it funny whenver Frank chased them away. On a night in August, Frank saw the lights on in the house and run over to confront the boys for breaking in. Instead, he found a deformed Voldemort talking to Peter Pettigrew. Nagini slithered into the room to tell Voldemort that Frank was standing outside the door. They invited Frank into the room where he was was killed with the Killing Curse.[1]
