Harry Potter Books Wiki

A rock cake is a fruit cake in the Harry Potter book series.

Rubeus Hagrid loved baking rock cakes but he wasn't very good at it. They were hard enough to break your teeth when eating it.

History[]

Rubeus Hagrid baked rock cakes. He often offered one to guests including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger when they went round to the Hut.

In September 1991, he gave Harry and Ron a raisin rock cake. They pretended to love the rock cakes even though it nearly broke their teeth. They didn’t have the heart to tell him they weren't nice.[1] In the summer of 1994, Hagrid sent Harry a sack of rock cakes but Harry didn't eat them.[2] In 1996, Harry was that hungry that he ate a rock cake at Hagrid's, but stopped when he heard a tooth make cracking noise.[3]
