Roderick Plumpton is a wizard, Quidditch Captain and Seeker and a character in Quidditch Through the Ages.
Biography[]
Roderick was a Seeker and Captain of the Tutshill Tornados in the early twentieth century. He led them to win the League Cup five times in a row, which is a League record. He was also Seeker for the English National Quidditch team twenty-two times.[1]
In 1921, Roderick caught the Golden Snitch in a League game against the Caerphilly Catapults in just three and a half seconds, the fastest recorded capture in British history.[1] The catch was achieved by appearing go swerve carelessly and getting the Snitch in his sleeve. Roderick claims he did this intentionally but there are critics who say he did it by accident. The catch is now a Quidditch tactic called the "Plumpton Pass".[2]
