The Summoning Charm is a charm to bring targets to the user.
About[]
The Summoning Charm pulls something toward the caster of the spell.[2]
History[]
In 1269, the concept of catching a Golden Snidget during a Quidditch game was introduced by Barberus Bragge who released the bird and offered a prize of one-hundred and fifty Galleons to the player that caught it first. A spectator, Modesty Rabnott saved the bird with the Summoning Charm. In a letter to her sister, she wrote that she was particuarly good at casting the Summoning Charm but it was easier for her to produce there because she was not on a broomstick.[2]
On the Hogwarts Express at the start of her fourth year, Hermione Granger tried learning the Summoning Charm by reading The Standard Book of Spells, Grade Four.[3]
Known uses[]
- Molly Weasley produced the charm to get Ton-Tongue Toffees out of Fred and George Weasley's pockets.[1]
