Terence Higgs is a character in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. He is a wizard who attends Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in Slytherin house. He is the Seeker for the Slytherin Quidditch team.
Biography[]
In 1991 to 1992, Terence was part of the Slytherin Quidditch team in the role of Seeker under Captain, Marcus Flint. In their first game of the year, he and the other Seeker, Harry Potter raced each other for the Golden Snitch when commentator Lee Jordan pointed the ball out. Harry had a better broom and nearly beat Terence neck-to-neck to catch the ball. Flint then blocked Harry and fouled him. However, in the confusion of Harry's broom being jinxed, Slytherin lost the game when Harry, not intending to, crashed to the ground and caught the Golden Snitch in the process.[2]
Terence was not Seeker during the 1992-1993 school year. It's unknown whether he had graduated, or whether Lucius Malfoy's had paid Flint to make Draco the Seeker instead.[3]
Notes and sources[]
- ↑ Terence only appears in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Chapter 11. He was at least a second-year student then because Harry was only the exception to the no first-years rule for joining Quidditch teams. If he was in the seventh-year then, the earliest he could be born was September 1974. If he was a second-year then, the latest he could be born was August 1979.
