The Letters From No One is the third chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. The chapter is named for the acceptance letters that Harry receives.
Events[]
For his eleventh birthday, an letter is sent to Harry Potter which Vernon and Petunia Dursley immediately take away from him. They will not let him open it or tell him who the sender is. Harry realises out they are scared of whoever sent it. The address is "The Cupboard under the Stairs" which shocks Petunia because they knew where they are making Harry sleep. They move him into the second bedroom. When they wake up in the morning, they receive another letter now addressed to the second bedroom. The next day, Harry decided to get up early and get the next letter before anyone else could, but Vernon had the same idea and screams at him.
Vernon nails the letter box shut but the letters keep arriving in other ways. Twelve letters are put through the side of the doors and windows, twenty four are put in two dozen egg deliveries, thirty or forty through the chimney, and letters continue to follow them to the Hut-on-the-Rock. At midnight on Harry's eleventh birthday, Rubeus Hagrid knocks down the door of the Hut.
