The Rogue Bludger is the tenth chapter of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.
Events[]
Harry, Ron and Hermione decide to prove that the Heir of Slytherin is probably Draco. Hermione suggests using Polyjuice Potion so they can turn into Slytherin students for an hour. They manipulate Professor Lockhart into signing permission for them to get a recipe book in the Restricted Section and start gathering the ingredients. Hermione starts preparing everything but realises they have to steal two ingredients kept in Professor Snape's personal stores.
In the first Quidditch game of the year, Harry is chased by a rogue Bludger that is purposefully targeting him. The crowd eventually realise what it is doing. Fred and George do their best to keep the Bludger away and suggest forfeiting the game for his safety, but Oliver lets Harry continue to play. He eventually catches the Golden Snitch but is hit by the Bludger. He breaks his arm in the fall.
Professor Lockhart intervenes to heal his broken bone but uses the wrong spell, rendering his arm boneless. He has to stay in the Hospital Wing for the night while Skele-Gro grows the missing bones back. Harry is woken up by Dobby in the night who encourages him to go home because he is still in danger. He reveals he had the rogue Bludger hunt Harry in the hope the injuries will be bad enough that he has to leave the school.
Dobby tells Harry the Chamber of Secrets was opened once before. He will not say anything else and he leaves when Professor Dumbledore and Professor McGonagall show up. McGonagall has found a Petrified Colin Creevey at the foot of the Hospital Wing stairs. Dumbledore tells to her and Madam Pomfrey that the Chamber of Secrets has indeed been opened.
