The Sorting Hat was the seventh chapter of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Events[]
Harry, Ron and Hermione along with the other people in their year, are taken to the Great Hall where they find out about the Sorting Hat. The Hat sings a song about the founding of the school, and then one by one, each child puts the Hat on and they are sorted in one of the four school houses.
Hermione was placed in Gryffindor, Draco in Slytherin, Neville in Gryffindor but when Harry was to be placed, he asked the Hat not to put him in Slytherin and the Hat placed Harry in Gryffindor. Ron was one of the final people to go up, and he joins Harry. They are introduced to new people, and then eat an amazing meal before going to sleep.
