The Three Broomsticks Inn is a popular inn and pub in Hogsmeade. It first appears in Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.

About[]

The Three Broomsticks Inn is very popular for selling foaming, hot Butterbeer.[1] It is a tiny establishment with a bar area which tends to get very crowded. Other drinks known to be sold are gillywater, mulled mead, a cherry syrup and soda and redcurrant rum.[2] The customer base includes the staff of Hogwarts, the students, villagers and creatures including goblins. It is also potentially visited by ogres.[1]

History[]

In October 1993, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger had Butterbeer in the Inn for the first time.[1] In December, they took Harry Potter for the first time to try Butterbeer. He hid behind a Christmas tree while he heard Professor McGonagall, Professor Flitwick and Professor Hagrid speaking to Cornelius Fudge and Rosmerta about Sirius Black, learning he had a godfather who betrayed his parents James and Lily Potter.[2]

In 1993 to 1994, Dementors patrolled Hogsmeade and Hagrid used to get annoyed at having to walk past a few every time he wanted to go to the Inn.[3]
