Trevor was a toad and the pet of Neville Longbottom. He was given to Neville by a great-uncle, Algie when he finally proved he was a wizard and was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Neville took Trevor to Hogwarts, but he kept losing him until eventually, Trevor joined the other toads in the Black Lake.

Biography

Trevor once belonged to Algie but when Neville finally proved he was a wizard and was accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, he gave Trevor to Neville to commemorate the achievement.

Neville and Trevor never developed a close bond, and he kept losing Trevor. In July 1991, he was heading to Hogwarts to start the first-year when he lost Trevor on Platform Nine and Three-Quarters and then on the train. Hermione Granger helped him search for the toad, and she asked Harry Potter and Ronald Weasley but they hadn't seen a toad. Rubeus Hagrid later found Trevor and asked everyone who he belonged to, and Neville was very happy to have him back.

In one of Neville's Charms lessons that year, Professor Flitwick demonstrated the Levitation Charm by causing Trevor to fly around the room. In around June 1992, a croaking Trevor was being held by Neville when he saw Harry, Ron and Hermione sneaking out past curfew. Trevor hopped away when they were arguing.

In the 1993-1994 school year, Professor Snape thought Neville was an incompetent student at Potions. He saw Neville's awful Shrinking Solution and announced he would feed it to Trevor to see if it worked. Hermione helped Neville save the potion and fortunately it worked. Trevor was turned into a tadpole, and was later given an antidote.

In the 1994-1995 school year, Harry was competing in the Triwizard Tournament and practiced the Summoning Charm by using Trevor. The next year, Trevor was struggling to escape from Neville's hold on him when Harry found them in the final carriage of the train. Neville then gave Trevor to Harry in order to show him the defence tactic of a Mimbulus Mimbletonia. When Cho Chang dropped by to speak to Harry, he was embarrassed to be "clutching a toad and dripping in Stinksap".

In the 1996-1997 school year, Trevor nearly escaped again on the train but Neville stopped him.
