The Wagga Wagga werewolf is a character in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. It is defeated by an Armenian warlock.[1]
Gilderoy Lockhart heard the story and thought it was a very good oneto tell. He used a Memory Charm on the warlock so he could take the story and say he defeated the werewolf. It was probably the subject of the book, Wanderings with Werewolves.[1]
In Lockhart's version of events, the werewolf was howling when "Lockhart" pounced and knocked it down. He held it down using one hand, and used the other hand to put a wand to it's neck. "Lockhart" then used a Homorphus Charm, and it gave pitiful sound before it turned back into a human. The villagers of Wagga Wagga then thanked "Lockhart" for saving their town.[1]
Lockhart taught the second-years during Defence Against the Dark Arts about the time he supposedly defeated the werewolf. Harry Potter had to act out a scene of the defeat in the role of the werewolf. Lockhart then asked the second-years to compose a poem about what happened for their homework.[1]
